I was out for a hike in the early morning when I heard the ruckus of crows and jays. A great horned owl was in the tree stump nearby. It had been a trying week. Her beauty was a gift. I watched her and found comfort in her majestic presence. I made my way further along the trail, up a steep hill. I found a bench and sat for a rest and to listen to the morning. My owl flew up and rested in a nearby tree to accompany me a little longer.
